So, why should you get one? Well, the answer is simple: consistency. When you work with time rather than weight, there is the grind setting that varies depending on how fine or coarse the coffee will be. Grind on a coarse setting for a fixed amount of time and you can expect more coffee to be ground compared to a finer setting. With the GBW technology, such a variable is completely eliminated since the quantity of ground coffee will be exactly what you program in the settings. The Libra’s scale will weigh the portafilter (tare) first and then the ground coffee until it reaches the number of grams set by the user. Small adjustments toward the end of the ground process are normal since they allow the coffee grinder to be very precise and deliver the exact quantity of coffee you want.
Aesthetically, the Libra looks just like a normal Eureka Mignon Specialita’. If you look closely, you will notice that is slightly taller compared to a standard Specialita’ due to the scale fitted underneath the fork. The touch screen is the same as the standard model, with the only difference being that the digits represent the grams instead of the seconds. This means you are able to program single and double doses as well as manual dosing.
